Where are we?
328kms/4 hours north of Cairns & just 30kms/30 minutes south of Cooktown
Four hours north of Cairns via the Mulligan Highway [2wd] and approximately two hours north of the Daintree River via The Bloomfield Track.

Directions
There are two options for getting to the festival from the South.
Inland Road & Coast Road:
Inland Road
This road is 100kms longer than the coastal road, however, is similar in travel time. This sealed road is easy access for all vehicles.
From Cairns take the road to Mareeba via the Kuranda Range.
From Mareeba head to Mt Molloy and take the Mulligan Highway through Mt Carbine and past the Palmer River Roadhouse to Lakeland.
At Lakeland continue along the Mulligan Highway, past Little Annan Gorge, as far as the right turn into Shipton’s Flat Road, just before Black Mountain National Park. Travel south along the Shiptons Flat Road past the historic Lion’s Den Hotel (4kms), a few km further to cross the single-lane Wallaby Creek Bridge and the Festival grounds are on your right.

Bus Services
Cairns-Cooktown-Express
runs from Cairns 7:00 am 5 days a week bus service to Lions Den, a few kms from the festival, and on to Cooktown.

The Coast Road
The coast road is considered the most scenic of the two routes.
4WD ONLY
Very steep over the ranges, slippery and dangerous when wet. Roadworks may cause delay.
Leaving Cairns you travel north to the Daintree River, cross the river via the vehicle ferry (there is a fee, of $18 one way), and then continue through the Daintree Wet Tropics rainforest to Cape Tribulation. Please be careful of the wildlife on the road, you may even see Cassowaries.
After Cape Tribulation, the road becomes 4WD ONLY and climbs over the range (very steep with rocky creeks to cross) for 32kms until you cross the Bloomfield River bridge at Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Community, and travel the now sealed Bloomfield Road beside the spectacular Bloomfield River and north through Ayton, up the range and rainforest along the edge of Cedar Bay National Park before reaching Rossville. Through the small village of Rossville a few km further to Shiptons Flat Road and the festival entry. The scenery is spectacular all the way!

Cairns to Cooktown – 40kms from the festival site.
This is a wonderful scenic flight where you fly over wet tropics rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, more a scenic flight than a transfer, and takes approx 45 minutes. You will then need to make your way from Cooktown, south to Shiptons Flat Road, past the Lions Den Hotel to the Wallaby Creek Bridge.
